Awesome Turtle Picture #014

With TMNT (Vol. 3) #25 out and all the buzz about Tang Amaya (AKA the Headhunter, AKA the Mistress, AKA the Lady Shredder), it seems like a good time to focus on an appearance she would have made in Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 2) #34, which was originally planned to publish the sequel to Ross May's Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 2) #22.

Editorial decisions ended in the Tang Amaya/The Mistress plot line being dropped and left unresolved, and the story that got published in Tales #34 was something completely different. Never-the-less, artist Scott Cohn completed the pencils for the cover and the first 9 pages, which he was kind-enough to share on his blog.

It's a shame we never got this story; I'm not sure why editorial at Mirage decided to kill it. Still, I'm glad to see the thread was eventually resolved in TMNT (Vol. 3) #25 and Cohn's art is always a treat. Check his blog for more!
