I was watching the horrible abomination that is The Next Mutation, and I began thinking: Why does everyone hate Venus so much? She was part of next mutation, but everything in that sucked. Yet people are absolutely opposed to her making a reappearance. If there really are no bad characters, just bad writers, why hasn't she been remade? I'm sure a competent writer could make it work. I thought it would make for an interesting analysis article. Do you think you could analyse it and come up with a why?

It's because the very concept an extra, female Turtle is completely pointless. The TMNT are already really popular with female audiences, why do we need to deliberately, without any sense of subtlety, attempt to pander to them? It also makes her stick out like a sore thumb as "the girl" with that being her defining character trait by default, and that's not going to go away no matter how she's written. It also is going to invite creepy incest artwork and fanfiction of her getting together with one of the other Turtles.

The biggest problem though is it messes with the family aspect the Turtles have always had. Part of why the chemistry works so well between any combination of two Turtles is because they're all brothers, and thus they can argue with each other, and yet relate to & understand each other far better than they could if one of them was a girl. It sounds sexist, but it's true.

There are 4 Turtles for a reason. That's simply how many there need to be. Adding or subtracting one would gimp the writing in all sorts of ways.
